Dan Wilson

Dan L. Wilson, 66, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at the Boone County Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 3, 2016, at St. John's Catholic Church in Ogden. Father James Bruch will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Ogden. Visitation will be Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m., all at St. John's Catholic Church. Daniel Leroy Wilson was born on November 23, 1949, in David City, Nebraska, the son of Thomas and Lorraine (Kudlacek) Wilson. He graduated with the Ogden School class of 1968.

In 1975, Dan was united in marriage to Judy (Budatz) Borkowski at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden.

Dan was a lifelong Ogden resident and was employed by Ogden Municipal Utilities as Superintendent for many years until retiring.

Dan belonged to St. John's Catholic Church. He was a member of the Ogden Volunteer Fire Department for many years where he had served as Fire Chief for several years. Dan enjoyed fishing and made many trips to Canada and to the family cabin in Park Rapids, Minnesota.

Dan is survived by his wife, Judy Wilson of Ogden, Iowa; three brothers, Tom (Elaine) Wilson, of Ogden, Iowa, Gordon Wilson of Lawton, Oklahoma; Bill (Terry) Wilson of Ogden, Iowa; one sister, Sally (Kevin) Willemssen of Terril, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
