Andrew "Andy" Crow

Andrew “Andy” Crow, 38, of Grimes, Iowa, passed away on Saturday morning, September 3, 2022, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines with his special person by his side.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Carson ~ Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Following visitation, Andy will be cremated. For online obituaries and condolences visit: www.carsonstappfuneralhome.com

Andrew Carl Crow was born on July 16, 1984, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Gary and Pearl (Zellmer) Crow.

Andy was a National Merit Scholar finalist in high school and participated in the Academic Decathlon. His team went on to represent Iowa in the Nationals held in Erie, PA. He was very talented musically and an accomplished pianist. Andy was a graduate of Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.

Andy worked in the genetic engineering department at Pioneer Hi Bred International in Johnston, Iowa for 10 years. He was currently employed as a DJ and enjoyed making others happy with music.

Andy’s daughter Eve was the light of his life and he always wanted the best for her.

Andy's friends appreciated how caring and supportive he was. He was known for being full of interesting facts, a good friend, and giving good advice on how to handle a shot on the pool table.

Survivors include his daughter Eve Crow of Urbandale, IA; his loving partner Krystal McClain of Ogden, IA; parents Gary and Pearl Crow of Cedar Rapids, IA; his brother Jeff and Jeff's wife Melinda Crow and their son Cooper of San Diego, CA; Eve's mother, Amy Crow of Urbandale, IA.; and many friends.

Andy loved animals especially his cats and his canine companion Isla.
