Andrew J. Mcfarland

Andrew "Andy" McFarland, 18, of Boxholm, Iowa, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010, at his home.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 9, 2010, at the United Methodist in Boxholm. Rev. Dennis Shepherd will officiate. Burial will be at Lawn Cemetery, rural Boxholm, Iowa. Visitation will be Thursday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Boxholm. Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton is in charge of the arrangements.

Andrew James McFarland was born on July 18, 1991, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Steve McFarland Jr. and Nancy (Helvick) McFarland. He attended Southeast Webster Grand Schools.

Andy belonged to the United Methodist Church in Boxholm. He enjoyed repairing and working on cars and spending time with family and friends. He was a very special older brother that always looked out for Katy, Joe, and Alanna.

Survivors include his mother, Nancy McFarland of Boxholm, Iowa; father, Steve McFarland Jr. of Webster City, Iowa; two sisters, Katy and Alanna McFarland of Boxholm, Iowa; one brother, Joe McFarland of Boxholm, Iowa; grandparents, Virginia and Harlan Adams of Boxholm, Iowa, Tammy Helvick of Ankeny, Iowa, Steve McFarland Sr. of Duncombe, Iowa, and Diane and Ray Kinnetz of Webster City, Iowa; and many other friends and relatives. His grandfather, Don Helvick, preceded him in death.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
