Bessie Eleanor Anderson

Bessie E. Anderson, 93, of rural Stratford, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, with her family by her side.

Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Carson ~ Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton. Robert Orr will officiate. Visitation was also Thursday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service, at the funeral home. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery near Stratford. Bessie Eleanor Brinkema was born on October 29, 1927, in Kamrar, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Rose (Tjabben) Brinkema. She attended school in Kamrar. Bessie was born again in the spring of 1940, on a rainy night north of Austinville, Iowa.

In December of 1947, Bessie was united in marriage to Paul Earl Anderson. They were blessed with two sons, Scotty and Luckie.

Bessie was dedicated to providing for her family. She worked at various jobs in her younger years and later worked in home health care.

She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband, Paul Anderson, son, Luckie Anderson, and siblings, Geneva, Tommy, and Ernest Jr.

Survivors include her son, Scott Anderson of rural Stratford, IA; grandchildren, Rex (Angie) Anderson of Smithville, MO, and Kim Anderson of rural Stratford, IA; as well as her former daughters-in-law, Connie and Brooke.
