Betty Louise Burt

Betty L. Burt, 91, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Funeral services for Betty will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ogden. Amy Hawcott will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Betty Louise Grimm was born on May 12, 1930, in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of Howard and Louise (Anderson) Grimm. She graduated from Ogden High School.

On February 15, 1947, Betty was united in marriage to John Robert “Bob” Burt. To this union four children were born: Elaine, Rebecca, John V., and Patricia. Betty worked at Archway Cookies, Bohlen and Associates, and retired from Fareway Corporate Office.

Betty was a member at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ogden. She loved cooking, sewing, reading, making crafts, including stained glass, camping and watching her grandchildren’s activities. Most of all she enjoyed time spent with her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include her four children, Elaine (Frank) Marsh of Grimes, Iowa, Becky (Mark) Benton of Guthrie Center, Iowa, John V. Burt (Kim Cunningham) of Pilot Mound, Iowa, and Pat (Jeff) Peterson of Dayton, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Carrie (Darin) Sloss, Erin (Peter) Smith, Julie (Jacob) Meyer, Katie (Ben) VanSickle, Jill (Steven) Bintz, John A., Hannah, Alyx, and Audra Burt, three step grandchildren, Blake (Beth) Benton, Libby (Cory) Adkins, and McKenzie (Jesse) Smith; 15 great-grandchildren, and seven step-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob Burt; and her sister, Janet Jacob.
