Bonnie Lou Reimers Ahrens, 84, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away Wednesday morning, October 9, 2019, at Stratford Specialty Care.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2019, at the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden. Rev. James “Buck” Buckhahn will officiate with Steve Satre conducting a special tribute. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Bonnie Lou Wayne was born on March 21, 1935, in Boone County, Iowa, the daughter of Loran and Gladys (Harris) Wayne. She graduated from Ogden High School.
On April 1, 1956, Bonnie was united in marriage to Ronald Edward Reimers at Ogden. The couple farmed south of Boxholm for 37 years. Ronald passed away on July 14, 1993.
Bonnie worked as a Dental Assistant for many years for Dr. James Pollard and Dr. Mark Platt at Ogden Family Dental.
On June 15, 2003 Bonnie married Jean Richard Ahrens in Ogden.
Bonnie was a member of the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends and often took her treats to the dentist office to share with her patients and co-workers. Bonnie especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and following all of their activities.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ronald Edward Reimers, sister, Edna Wayne, and her step-son, Leslie Ahrens.
She is survived by her husband Jean Ahrens of Stratford; daughter, Tammy (Mike) Miller of Ankeny; son, Kent (Tammy) Reimers of Ogden; four grandchildren, Jordan Davidson, Logan Davidson, Cameron (Hannah) Reimers and Taryn (Nate) Reichter; two great granddaughters, Hunter Reimers and Renae Reichter; step-children, Rachele (Pat) Cahill of Stratford, Jeff (Michelle) Ahrens also of Stratford, Glenn Ahrens of Chapel Hill, NC., and Angela (Mark) Knight of Dallas, TX., 15 step-grandchildren, 18 step great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
