Candace Elaine VanMeter, 67, died Sunday May 28, 2017, at her home in Berkley, IA.

She was born to Robert and Deloris (Conklin) Johnson in Boone, Iowa, on May 2, 1950. Candy attended Perry High School and graduated from Capri College in Ames, IA. She moved to Jamaica, IA in 1963 then to Berkley in 1973. From 1986 to 2006, Candy worked as a hairdresser. From 2006 to 2008 she lived in Florida. Candy moved back to Iowa to care for her mom.
She enjoyed collecting Native American items and gardening. She loved her dogs Trucker, Damion and Mckayla.
Her family includes: son Rodney (Crystal) Lambert of Berkley; daughter Stephanie Lambert of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren Patrick Lambert, Lacey (Brent) McCaffery, Ryan Braunschweig, Courtney Lambert, Tyler Low, Sarah Swanson, Crissy Swanson, and Natasha Niles; eight great grandchildren Raya, Ben, Simone, Micah, Kaitlyn, Jeremiah, Jaydison, and Izabella; four siblings Keith, Wolfie, Shelia, and Danny.
Preceding her in death are her mother and brother Douglas Micheal. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
