Carol Piper, 70, of Dayton, Iowa, passed away on Monday morning, July 17, 2023, at Grandview Health Care Center in Dayton.

Carol Jean Johnston was born on August 16, 1952, in Boone, Iowa the daughter of Lawrence and Darlene (Lass) Johnston. She was baptized at her parents’ home in Ogden on February 27, 1953, and confirmed on June 11, 1966, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boxholm.
She graduated with the Grand Community High School class of 1970, Boxholm, Iowa.
On August 20, 1978, she was united in marriage to Mickey L. Piper in Duncombe, Iowa.
Carol owned & operated the Maid-Rite in Boone for several years, worked at the Silver Spur Truck Stop in Dodge City, Kansas, and later cooked at the Vault in Duncombe.
Survivors include her mother, Darlene Johnston, of Dayton, IA; step-daughter, Chastity Wright of KS, two grandsons; her sisters, Ruth (Marvin) Anderson of Dayton, IA, and Tammie (Trent) Johnson of Webster City, IA; brother-in-law, Steve Snowgren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Johnston, husband, Mickey Piper, one sister, Julie Snowgren, a niece, Kimberly Temple, and a nephew in infancy, Michael Anderson.
