Charles Junior Tigner was born Nov. 27, 1924, to Charles Wilbur and Irene H. (Brown) Tigner at his grandmother's home in California. He grew up on a farm near Otho and graduated from Otho High School in 1941.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and later attended Tobin Business College in Fort Dodge. He was active in 4-H and Rural Youth clubs. It was through Rural Youth that he met Rosemary Crawford, of Duncombe, whom he married on December 27, 1952, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lehigh.

Charles and Rosemary established their home on a farm northwest of Lehigh and raised four children. He farmed with his father while working as an accountant for several Fort Dodge companies over the years. Charles and Rosemary also served as leaders of the Burnside boys and girls 4-H clubs, to which their children belonged.

After retirement, Charles and Rosemary enjoyed traveling and wintered in Mesa, Ariz., near their daughter, for 12 years, where they made many lasting friendships and enjoyed many potlucks and games of dominoes. They also took many trips throughout the U.S and Canada. In 2007, they traveled to Ireland.

Rosemary died on Dec. 5, 2012. Charles is survived by sons Robert (Terry) Tigner of McCook, Neb., Richard (Lucy) Tigner of Kingston, Okla., and Ronald Tigner of Lehigh; and daughter, Rochelle (Patrick) Impiccini of Phoenix, Ariz.; as well as grandchildren Erin Gasaway, Ryan Tigner and Katie Brooks; great grandchildren, James Gasaway, Mikayla Gasaway and Teagan Tigner; sister- and brother-in-law, Charles and Ramona Pierce of St. Ansgar, and seven neices and nephews.
