Cherisse Ann Constable

Cherisse Ann Constable, 52, of Lehigh, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 30, 2015, at the United Methodist Church in Dayton. Pastor Kay. Christie will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Carson – Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton. Burial will be at a later date at West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh. Cherisse Ann Smith was born on May 17, 1963, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Samuel and Patricia (Goodrich) Smith. She attended Central Webster High School in Burnside and went on to earn her Associates Degree at DMACC in Boone.

On February 14, 2001, Cherisse was united in marriage to Jim Constable at the Vincent House in Fort Dodge. The couple made their home in Lehigh.

In 1993, Cherisse started her career at Head Start Inc. in Fort Dodge where she worked as a caseworker for the next 19 years.

Cherisse loved taking car rides with Jim, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed the outdoors and watching the birds that would come to her feeders.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Constable of Lehigh, Iowa; children, Johnathon (Sadie) Trueblood of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Alex (Emma) Trueblood of Callender, Iowa, Melissa (John) Rude of Lehigh, Iowa, Aaron Constable of Burnside, Iowa, and Tiffany Constable of Iowa City, Iowa; her mother, Patricia Bagbey-Derrick of Sun City West, Arizona; grandchildren, Eli, Lydia, Gavin, and Maddison Rude; and two brothers, Randy (Kathy) Smith of Duncombe, Iowa, and Mike (Cheryl) Smith of Palm Grove, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.
