Conrad Duane Richardson, 80, of Boone, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.
Conrad's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden is in charge of the arrangements.
Conrad Duane Richardson was born on December 11, 1931, on a farm in White Oak, Iowa, the son of Oliver and Leona (Barbee) Richardson. He graduated with the Huxley High School class of 1949, and went on attended Universal Trade School in Omaha, Nebraska, to become an Auto Body Mechanic. Conrad also served his country for several years in the United States Naval Reserves.
On July 23, 1954, Conrad was united in marriage to Audrey Greif at White Oak Church. The couple established their home on an acreage north of Woodward and lived in the area until 2010 when Conrad moved to the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone. Conrad owned and operated Conrad Body Shop in Woodward and later worked for Ziegler - Caterpillar in Des Moines until retiring at the age of 65.
Conrad belonged to the Assembly of God Church. He was born again on January 9, 1983.
Among the survivors are his wife, Audrey Richardson, of Boone, Iowa; children, Kim Lentz of Waukee, Iowa, Kirk (Karen) Richardson of Stratford, Iowa, Kelly Beary of Boone, Iowa, and Julie Richardson and Amy Lawrence both of Washington; grandchildren, Dannielle Wright, Joshua Dissinger, Riann (Matt) Behm, Mindy (Josh) Yingst, Terry Richardson, Jodi (Jared) Olson, Justin Sorensen, Matthew Lawrence and Makalia Lawrence; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clark (Joyce) Richardson of Denver, Colorado, and Leon (Karen) Richardson of Ankeny, Iowa; and one sister, Georgia (Robert) Miller of Ames, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
