Darrell K. Kinsey, 84, passed away suddenly Wednesday morning, April 1, 2020, at his home in Dayton.
Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time. Private burial will be at Christ The King Catholic Cemetery in Dayton. Carson ~ Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton has been entrusted with the arrangements. Darrell Kenneth Kinsey was born on December 30, 1935, in Dayton, Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Ruby (Waters) Kinsey.
On June 8, 1963, Darrell was united in marriage to Janet Kinsey at Christ The King Catholic Church in Dayton. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Thomas and Timothy.
Darrell was employed at Iowa Beef in Fort Dodge for many years and later worked for the City of Dayton until retiring.
Darrell was a longtime member of Christ The King Catholic Church in Dayton and currently belonged to Holy Trinity Parish in Fort Dodge. He was a former member of the Dayton Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother & sister in infancy, sister, Katherine Danielson, and two brothers, George Kinsey, and Bruce Kinsey.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Janet Kinsey of Dayton, IA; two sons, Tom (Deb) Kinsey of Urbana, IA, and Tim (Jennifer) Kinsey of Denison, IA; four grandchildren, Megan (Adam) Nahnsen, Mitchel Kinsey, Brandon Kinsey, and Alex Kinsey; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the Dayton Library, Dayton Food Pantry, or Holy Trinity Parish.
