David Lewis McComas, 53, died Saturday, April 2, 2011, at his home in Dayton, Iowa.
David's wishes were to be cremated. Memorial services will be held at North Beaver Creek - Faith Lutheran Church in Ettrick, Wisconsin. Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton is assisting with local arrangements.
David Lewis McComas was born on September 12, 1957, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Lewis and Arnetta Whitaker McComas. David went on to receive his B.S. Degree in Horticulture in 1979, from the University of Missouri, and in 1998, received a B.S. Degree in Feed Science and Management, from Kansas State University.
On October 27, 1984, David was united in marriage to Marlene Ann Johnson.
David was previously employed by the Stagg Hill Golf Club of Manhattan, Kansas, as the course Superintendent. He was currently employed as a groundskeeper at Iowa State University in Ames.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene McComas of Dayton, Iowa; parents, Lewis and Arnetta McComas of Garden City, Missouri; a brother, John (Nancy) McComas of Germantown, Tennessee; two sisters, Ann (William) Pierce of Peculiar, Missouri, and Lisa (Andrew) Manter of Raytown, Missouri; father and mother-in-law, Willard and Mavis Johnson of Ettrick, Wisconsin; brothers-in-law, Wayne (Kathleen) Johnson of Wausau, Wisconsin, and Wendell (Vicky) Johnson of Rockford, Illinois; sisters-in-law, Anita Riehl of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Marjorie (James) Hilliard of Chicago, Illinois; and ten nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
