Dean A. Johnson

Dean A. Johnson, 58, of Pilot Mound, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at the Boone County Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 10, 2010, at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Rev. Dennis Shepherd will officiate. Burial will be in the Pilot Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Dean Arlen Johnson was born on December 20, 1951, in Boone, Iowa, the son of Carl and Daisy "Gerry" (Simpson) Johnson. He graduated with the Grand Community High School class of 1970. Following his education, Dean farmed west of Pilot Mound on the family farm where he later cared for his mother. In 1986, Dean was united in marriage to Kelly Richardson. Following their marriage, Kelly's children Justin and Jody joined the couple on the farm. Dean and Kelly were later divorced. Dean was currently employed by Rail Crew Xpress out of Boone. Dean enjoyed, nature, playing cards, antiquing, baling hay and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include Dean's cousin, Gary (Alma) Swanson and their children, Kyle and Kelsey all of Ogden, Iowa; and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents;

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
