Dee Merriam, 66, of Boxholm, Iowa, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018, at the Accura Healthcare of Ogden.

Hazel D. Hermanns was born on July 30, 1951, California, the daughter of Edward and Vida (Hargett) Hermann. The family moved to Washington where she met Big Bob.

On October 1, 1977, Dee was united in marriage to Robert Merriam Sr. The couple moved to Wyoming and eventually moving to Ogden, Iowa, where they raised their family. Dee worked in the kitchen at Twisters bar in Pilot Mound and also at the Grandview Care Center in Dayton.

Dee loved to sew and travel. She especially loved her two dogs, Tasha and Bambi.

She is survived by Daughter, Melinda Dewsnup of Boone; son , Robert "Bob" (Katie) Merriam of Boone; sister, Kay Pettichord of Spokane WA; friend for life Mabel Buchmiller of Ogden; five grandchildren, Tony (Caitlin) Bernau, Ashley Bechtold, Grace, Hank, and Wyatt Merriam; four great-grandchildren, Jameson, Annalee, and Mikaylee Bernau and Laiken Wildt.

She was preceded by her parents, Ed and Vida Hermanns, husband, Robert "Big Bob" Merriam Sr., and son, Wayne Merriam, brother, Ernie Hermanns, sister, Charlotte Brown.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
