Dee Wayne Richardson

Dee W. Richardson, 81, of Dayton, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Grandview Health Care Center in Dayton.

A memorial service for Dee will be held at a later date with burial at Dayton Cemetery in Dayton, Iowa. Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton has been entrusted with arrangements. 

Dee Wayne Richardson, son of John “Maurice” and Gladys (Forsberg) Richardson was born on July 22, 1941 in Iowa. He received his education from the Dayton Community Schools and attended Iowa Central Community College where he earned his welding certificate. Following his education, Dee worked at Dayton Farm Drainage for many years. He then worked for the City of Dayton and later for Grandview Healthcare Center in maintenance until his retirement.

Dee was united in marriage to Susan Marie O’Hern for over 42 years. Dee enjoyed horses, braiding horse reins, and loved the outdoors. He was also a member of Dayton United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, Dee was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Susan.

Survivors include his daughter, Johnna Richardson of Altoona; three sons, Scott (Mary) Johnson and Ora (Tami) Johnson both of Dayton, J.J. Johnson of Greene; sister, Lynn Schlief of Dayton; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
