Dennis Burkhart

Dennis Burkhart, 70, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Dennis's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Community United Methodist Church in Ogden. Rev. Gary Hoyt will officiate. Dennis Lee Burkhart was born on September 13, 1944, in Boone, Iowa, the son of David and Ada (Johnson) Burkhart. He graduated with the Ogden High School class of 1962.

On November 15, 1964, Dennis was united in marriage to Jaclyn Ann Fullerton in Boone, Iowa. The couple established their home on a farm south of Ogden.

Dennis farmed south of Ogden for over 40 years, and had worked at Highway Farms in Ogden, West Central Coop in Beaver, and later worked at Besser Quinn Machine & Foundry in Boone until retiring. He enjoyed fishing and riding horses.

Survivors include two daughters, Lynn (Timothy) Anderson of Waterloo, Wisconsin,
and Michele (Scot) Patrick of Indianola, Iowa; son, Bradley Burkhart of Ogden, Iowa; five grandchildren, Samantha, Sydney, Elizabeth, Curtis, and Brandon; one great-grandson, Triston; one sister, Nyla Good of Boone, Iowa; and one brother, Layton (Phyllis) Burkhart of Huxley, Iowa.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents.
