Donald Leslie Paulson

Donald L. Paulson, 86, of Boone, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.

Visitation for Don will be held from 5-8 P.M. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, January 5, 2023 also at Augustana Lutheran Church. Pastor Robin Coughennower will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden has been entrusted with arrangements. Donald Leslie Paulson, son of Leslie and Clara (Grabau) Paulson was born on September 8, 1936 in Ogden, Iowa. He graduated from Ogden High School with the class of 1954.

On November 13, 1955, Don was united in marriage to Marilyn Jo Kennedy at the Community Methodist Church in Ogden. The couple resided on the family farm northwest of Ogden until 2011 when they moved to Boone. Don remained engaged in farming throughout his life.

Don was a long-time member of the Iowa Central Antique Tractor Pullers Association and the Boone County Cattleman’s Association and enjoyed time with his family, trap shooting and Wednesday breakfasts with his friends.

In addition to his parents, Don was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janet and Jim Duff of Des Moines.

Survivors include his loving wife, Marilyn of Boone; children, Kim Downs and husband Steve of St. Charles, Iowa, Jeff Paulson and wife Angie of Ogden; grandchildren, Kyla Crouthamel, Kelly Skoda (Jason), Nicholas Paulson (Allie) and Kyle Paulson (Spencer); and great grandchildren, Porter and Orion Skoda, Liam, Ella and Scarlett Paulson; sister, Donna Stockwell (Jim) of McKinney, TX and nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Memorials may be directed to Augustana Lutheran Church or Suncrest Hospice.
