Doris Hagge

Doris A. Hagge, 86, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and formerly of Boone and Ogden, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2015, at New Aldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls of complications from Parkinson's Disease.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Pastor Wade Brandt will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Doris Arlene Rhoades was born on April 16, 1929, in Dawson, Iowa, the daughter of Loyde and Blanche (McDowell) Rhoades. She was baptized at the United Brethren Church in Dawson and later confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Doris graduated with the Perry High School class of 1946.

On June 22, 1947, Doris was united in marriage to Eugene "Gene" Hagge at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. To this marriage two children were born: Marcie and Ron.

Doris and Gene lived and farmed northwest of Ogden until Gene passed away in 1992. Doris also worked as the office manager and personal secretary to Dr. Thomas Kane in Boone for 25 years, and had been employed at Boone State Bank & Trust as well as other secretarial positions. After Gene's death, Doris lived in Boone until moving to Cedar Falls due to her health.

Doris belonged to Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. She was a longtime member of the Women's Bowling League and enjoyed time spent with family and friends, music, dancing, and travel.

Among the survivors are her daughter, Marcie Hagge of Cedar Falls, Iowa; two grandsons, Ryan Beckman and Joey Hagge; daughter-in-law, Jane Hagge of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; her sister, Eleanor Alex of Grand Junction, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gene Hagge, son, Ron Hagge in 2012, a sister, Kay Lingner, and sisters and brothers-in-law.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
