Dorothy Webber, 92, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017, at the Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden. Rev. Gary Hoyt will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Dorothy DuPre was born on May 3, 1925, in Toledo, Iowa, the daughter of Alvin & Rose (Uchytil) DuPre. She graduated from both Toledo High School 1943, and Iowa State Teachers College (UNI), where she earned her teaching certificate. She taught elementary school in Burlington. Dorothy moved to Ogden where she also taught.
On June 4, 1950, Dorothy married Kenneth Webber in Toledo, Iowa. To this union was born two daughters, Miriam Lew Webber and Lydia Kay Webber.
Dorothy belonged to the Community United Methodist Church. She was active in the women's church circle; Leonard Good Library; and a card club. She enjoyed reading, valued education, and loved her church family. Dorothy was a cancer survivor and was an avid supporter of Relay for Life.
Among the survivors are her, two daughters, Miriam Lew Webber (Steven Ribbel) of Lake Crystal, MN, and Lydia Kay Webber of Urbandale, Iowa; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters Theone Duvall and Gerry Plavets.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenny in February of 2013, two brothers Dale Theodore and Laverne Alvin DuPre.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
