Duane “Butch” Anderson, 82, of Boone, Iowa, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, at the Boone County Hospital.
Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 21, 2024, at Rose Hill Cemetery, rural Boone, Iowa. A luncheon and come & go celebration of Butch’s life will follow from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., at the Lodge by the Lake (near the bait shop), Don Williams Park, rural Ogden, Iowa. Duane Walter Anderson was born on August 19, 1941, in Boone, Iowa, the son of John and Lillian (Tilley) Anderson.
From 1962 – 1965 Butch was married to Karen Elliott. To this union two children were born: Jeff and Kim. They later divorced.
Butch later married Sandra Crandall. Sandra came to the marriage with a son: Phillip Davidson. From this union one child was born: Madonna Moore. They later divorced.
Butch would later have two additional children: Derrick Davidson and Wenndi Bailey.
Butch worked at various jobs including the Woodward State Hospital and Hallett Materials in Boone. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Butch is also preceded in death by his twin brother, Dwight “Bud” Anderson, brothers, Gary and Joe (twins), Tom, Harrold, and Leander “Jack” Anderson, sisters, Honeylou Hefler, Dorris Banford and June Stoneburner (twins), Veleta Coats, Irene Erickson, Evelyne Gilliam, and Lillian “Did” Lind, great grandson Sebastain Davidson and his stillborn granddaughter Angelique.
Survivors include his children, Jeff Anderson of Utah, Kim (Martin) Murray of Stratford, IA, Madonna (Bill) Moore of Perry, IA, Derrick (Stacey) Davidson of Boone, IA, and Wenndi (Josh) Bailey of Portland, ME, and Phil (Belinda) Davidson of Ogden, IA; his sister Peg Bielfelt of Boone, IA; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
