Dwayne Rosenquist

Dwayne R. Rosenquist, 85, passed away at his home in Fort Dodge on Thursday, July 29, 2010, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Burnside. Rev. Julian Swanson will officiate. Burial will be in the Dayton Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton.

Dwayne Reuben Rosenquist was born on August 9, 1924, on the family farm west of Burnside, Iowa, the son of Reuben and Lillie (Bergman) Rosenquist. He was a graduate of the Burnside High School. On September 5, 1948, Dwayne was united in marriage to Fern Titus at the Christian Church in Des Moines, Iowa. The couple lived and farmed west of Burnside and in 1952 founded Rosenquist Well Co., currently operating as R & R Well Co., Inc.

Dwayne was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Burnside where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, and was active in Lutheran Brotherhood. He also belonged to the Iowa Well Water Association as well as the National Well Water Association.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Fern Rosenquist of Fort Dodge, Iowa; one daughter, Linda (Lee) Hilsenbeck of Carrollton, Texas; two sons, Lynn Rosenquist and Lanny Rosenquist both of Fort Dodge, Iowa; three grandchildren, Shawn Cumings, Ryan and Reese Rosenquist; three step-grandchildren, Heather Hilsenbeck, Jessie Jones, and Justin Hilsenbeck; one brother, Gerald (Marcia) Rosenquist of Dayton, Iowa; two sisters, Arlene Rosenquist of Dayton, Iowa, and Norma O'Brion of Osage, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Mary Rosenquist of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. His parents, and a brother, Leland and his wife, Gladys Rosenquist, preceded him in death.
