Easter Adeline (Tell) Eslick, 92, passed away on Friday, December 19th at the Grandview Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at the United Methodist Church in Dayton. Rev. John Hembry will officiate. Burial will be in the Dayton Cemetery. Adeline was born April 15, 1922 on the family farm west of Dayton. Her parents were Frank William and Elsie Mae (Waters) Tell. She was the fourth of eight children.
She attended Dayton Consolidated Schools and graduated with the class of 1940.
On June 25, 1944 she was united in marriage to John (Jack) Eslick. To this union three children were born, Roger, Richard and Martha. They lived in the McGuire Bend area before moving and raising their family on their farm north of Dayton, living there for 37 years, until moving to Dayton.
Adeline served in many capacities in her church and community. Adeline and her husband, Jack, were active in 4-H. Both were members in their youth and later were club leaders. She was also active in her Women's Club, PTA, band boosters and United Methodist Women. She was past-matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Acorn chapter #431. And she belonged to several card groups.
She was known for her piano and bread-baking talents. She was always interested in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities.
Adeline was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack; her sister, Verna (Tell) Larson; her brothers, Gerald, Robert, Wayne, Dick, and Keith Tell; grandson, Todd Eslick and by her beloved aunt and uncle, Grace and Art Peterson.
Surviving are sons, Roger (Judy Stewart) Eslick, Richard (Colleen Shuey) Eslick, all of Dayton and daughter, Martha (Craig) Heineman, Ogden, Iowa; grandchildren, Trisha (Tim) Davis of Windsor Heights, Iowa, Nathan (Annette) Eslick, Clinton, Iowa, Matthew (Meghan) Eslick, Norwalk, Iowa, Cari (Dan) Pekol, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Annie Eslick, Waterloo, Iowa, Julie Eslick, Altoona, Iowa, Brad (Mary) Eslick, Dayton, Iowa, Ryan (Lindsay) Eslick, Lehigh, Iowa, Brett Heineman, Ogden, Iowa and Laura Heineman, Ankeny, Iowa and 14 great grandchildren.
Also surviving is her sister, Marjorie Iles; and sister-in-laws, Marilyn Tell and Erma Tell, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
