Eleanor “Lucy” Hagge, 88, of Dayton, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at her home in Dayton.
A private family graveside service for Lucy will be held at McGuire Bend Cemetery in rural Dayton, Iowa. Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton has been entrusted with arrangements.
Eleanor Lucille Dutcher, daughter of Lawrence and Catherine (Ball) Dutcher was born on February 18, 1932, in Yell Township near Dayton, Iowa.
Lucy attended country schools until the eighth grade when she attended Dayton Schools. She graduated with the Dayton High School Class in 1949.
On July 11, 1952, Lucy was united in marriage to Paul “Gary” Hagge. They were blessed with four children, Bruce, Brian, Brett, and Brenda.
Lucy worked for many years at Globe Union and Central Labs both in Fort Dodge. She also worked for several businesses in the Dayton area.
She enjoyed bowling, golfing and fishing. Lucy’s life revolved around her family and their activities.
In addition to her parents, Lucy was also preceded in death by her husband, Gary Hagge; two brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include her three sons, Bruce (Joyce) Hagge of Wataga, Illinois, Brian (Terri) Hagge of Dayton, Iowa, and Brett (Cathy) Hagge of Dayton, Iowa; one daughter, Brenda (Roger) Dodson of Boxholm, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; three sisters, Joyce Hossople of Florida, DaVonne Berns of Dayton, IA, and Barb Sandholm of Fort Dodge, IA; one brother, Dale Dutcher of Mesa, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.
