Elsie M. Youngren

Elsie Youngren, 87, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014, at the Boone County Hospital.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Pastor Jeff McDowell will officiate. Elsie Margaret Youngren was born on August 1, 1926, in Boone, Iowa the daughter of Julius and Iva (Zunkel) Youngren. She graduated from Ogden High School. After high school Elsie farmed and raised cattle.

Elsie enjoyed attending auctions, bird watching, collecting rocks and playing bingo.

She is survived by her sisters and brother; Eileen Smith of Boone, Iowa, Phyllis Youngren of Madrid, Iowa, Dean Youngren of Ogden, Iowa; six nieces, Jeanine (Dan) Crosman, Virgene (Randy) Monthei, Colleen Smith, Lori (Dan) Day, Lynette (Randy) Huinker; one nephew, David (Mindy) Youngren; and nine great nieces and nephews; and six great-great nieces and nephews. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Maynard Youngren.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
