Esther E. Wingfield

Esther E. Wingfield, 91, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at the Evangelical Free Church Home in Boone.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 5, 2010, at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Pastor Paul Becker will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, from 11:30 a.m., until the time of services at the funeral home. Private burial of cremains will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden.

Esther Evelyn Peterson was born on February 12, 1919, in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Bessie (Swanson) Peterson. She attended Boone Schools. Esther was united in marriage to James J. Wingfield on February 12, 1938, in Missouri. The couple established their home in Ogden. Jim passed away on October 29, 2006.

Esther enjoyed collecting dolls, golf, bowling and playing cards.

Survivors include four children, Marilyn (Dennis) Caples of Independence, Missouri, James (Betty) Wingfield of Boone, Iowa, Pam (Gary) McClain of Boone, Iowa, and Tom (Pam) Wingfield of Boone, Iowa; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; a great great grandson; her sister, Verna (Chauncey) Alcott of Madrid, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Wingfield; five brothers; and two sisters.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
