F. Louise Hall

F. Louise Hall, 93, of Boone, Iowa, and formerly of Ogden passed away on June 19, 2012, at Westhaven Community in Boone.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2012, at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Pastor Jeff McDowell will officiate. Burial will be at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Visitation will be Thursday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden.

Florence Louise Brewer was born on February 15, 1919, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Ervin and Laura (Reichard) Brewer. She graduated with the Perry High School class of 1936, and furthered her education at Drake University in Des Moines. On December 23, 1945, Louise was united in marriage to Elmer Lloyd Hall in Perry, Iowa. She taught country schools in the Bouton, Beaver, and Perry area. Louise and Elmer later made their home southwest of Boxholm where they farmed for 22 years until moving to Ogden in 1972. Louise taught grade school at Howe Elementary in Ogden from April of 1965 until retiring in March of 1984. Elmer passed away on May 2, 2006. In August of 2010, Louise moved to Westhaven Community in Boone.

Louise belonged to the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden, the Alpha Delta Kappa teacher's organization, and helped begin the scouting program in Boxholm where she was a Den Mother. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and working outdoors. Most of all she enjoyed the times spent with family and friends.

Among the survivors are three sons, Ervin (Martha) Hall of Dana Point, California,
Larry Hall (Pam Sullivan) of Venice, Florida, Terry (Kristy) Hall of Boone, Iowa;
one daughter, Ruth Jarrell of Adel, Iowa; grandchildren, Shawn (Janelle) Hall, Heather (Bradley) Strable, Kelly (Craig) Futch, Loralee Jarrell, Janessa Jarrell, Phillip Hall, and Kristin Diamond; great grandchildren, Jordan and Rainey Futch, Hannah, Hudson, and Holton Hall, and Langston, Landen, and Ellyson Strable; two sisters, Nellie (Merlin) Davis and Annie Mickelson both of Perry, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer Hall; and four brothers, George, Max, Al, and Charles Brewer.

Memorials may be left to Howe Elementary School in honor of Louise.
