Gary Hagge, 84, of Dayton, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at the Dayton Community Center. A luncheon will be served immediately following the service. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the community center. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., at McGuire Bend Cemetery, rural Dayton. Paul Gerald Hagge was born on July 27, 1933, in Boone County, rural Ogden, Iowa, the son of Paul and Verna (McVicker) Hagge.
Following his education, Gary served four years in the United States Navy from 1952 – 1956, during the Korean War. While enlisted he took electrical training and served on a minesweeper.
On July 11, 1952, Gary was united in marriage to Lucy Dutcher. They were blessed with four children, Bruce, Brian, Brett, and Brenda.
Gary worked at Horn Brother, U.S.G., Farmland Industries, Grandview Health Care Center, and also worked as an electrician.
He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, fishing & hunting.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Verna Hagge, one brother, Jay Hagge, and his grandson, Paul Richard Hagge.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Hagge of Dayton, Iowa; three sons, Bruce (Joyce) Hagge of Wataga, Illinois, Brian (Terri) Hagge of Dayton, Iowa, and Brett (Cathy) Hagge of Dayton, Iowa;
one daughter, Brenda (Roger) Dodson of Boxholm, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Doug (Joyce) Hagge of Columbus, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be given to organizations by the family.
