Gladys Buckley

Gladys I. Buckley, 93, of Fort Dodge and formerly of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012, at her home in Fort Dodge.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 28, 2012, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ogden. Pastor Gordon Lundberg will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Visitation will be Friday, from 9:00 a.m., until the time of services at the Church. Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden is in charge of the arrangements.

Gladys Irene Hall was born on December 7, 1918, the daughter of Gilbert and Mabel (Schultz) Hall. She graduated with the Boxholm High School class of 1937.

On June 14, 1939, Gladys was united in marriage to Francis Thomas Buckley. To this union five children were born: Dorian, Jerene, Kathleen, Tom and Garry. The couple had lived in Boxholm, California, Fort Dodge, Ames, and Ogden. Francis passed away on May 24, 1980.

Gladys was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ogden where she was active in many church activities. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, McGraw Sr. Center, Garden Club, T.O.P.S., and volunteered her time at the Leonard Good Library. She also enjoyed family and friends, Church, playing cards, and reading, as well as crocheting, sewing, and quilting.

Among the survivors are three daughters, Dorian Cook of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Jerene Martin of Ogden, Iowa, and Kathleen Buckley McCombs of Polk City, Iowa; one son, Tom (Patricia) Buckley of Ogden, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren, and 1 step great great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis Buckley; son, Garry Buckley; son-in-law, Richard Cook; grandson, Rex Cook; a granddaughter-in-law, Tracey McCombs; great granddaughter, Logan Stewart; three brothers, Wilbur, Leonal "Speed", and Cloyd Hall; and one sister, Faith Henricks.

Memorials may be left to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ogden or to the discretion of the family.
