Gladys M. Lindgren, 89, of Ogden, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at the Boone County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m., Monday, January 19, 2009 at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Pastor Gordon Lundberg will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden.
Gladys Merle Johnson was born on September 1, 1919, in Boone County, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Kincade) Johnson. She attended schools in Boone County. Gladys was united in marriage to Earl C. Lindgren on June 5, 1937, at Swede Valley Lutheran Church in Ogden. The couple lived and farmed north of Ogden for many years where Gladys raised chickens, sold eggs, and helped with the chores. Earl passed away on July 30, 1991. Gladys later moved into town where she remained until becoming a resident of the Ogden Manor in July of 2008.
Survivors include two sons, Gary (Donna) Lindgren and LaVern "Durn" (Carol) Lindgren of Ogden, Iowa; five grandchildren, Vicki (Mark) Allinger, Dan (Carrie) Lindgren, Jason (Ericka) Lindgren, Jeff (Debbie) Lindgren, and Jim (Kristi) Lindgren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vera Lindgren, Lois Miller, and Mary Laube all of Ogden, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl Lindgren; three sisters, Maudie Miller, Selma Burke, and Ruth Pervier; and two brothers, Orville and Roland Johnson.
