Gordon L. Lundberg, 88, of Dayton, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
A celebration of life service will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Dayton. Pastor Lissa Kahl will officiate. Burial will be at the Dayton Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Peterson American Legion Post #323. Gordon Lee Lundberg was born on April 12, 1931, in Dayton, Iowa, the son of Gilbert and Rosalie (Nelson) Lundberg. He graduated with the Dayton High School class of 1949. Following his education, Gordon served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
On April 17, 1954, Gordon was united in marriage to Clarice Selander at Zion Lutheran Church in Gowrie. The couple lived in Dayton where he owned & operated Lundberg Plumbing, Heating, & Cooling.
Gordon was a longtime member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Dayton where he served on the Church Board. He was a prior President of the Dayton Golf & Country Club, served on the Rodeo Committee, was one of the original members of the Grandview Apartment Board, and belonged to the Dayton Community Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Robert Lundberg.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Clarice Lundberg of Dayton, IA; children, Doug (Becky) Lundberg of West Des Moines, IA, Denise (Randy) Lehman of Paton, IA, Diane (Scott) Engquist of Harcourt, IA, and David (Laura) Lundberg of St. Peters, MO; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, Nicholas (Lindy) Lehman, parents of Parker and Mason Lehman, Phillip (Ann) Lundberg, parents of Samuel Lundberg, Miah Barron, Tatum Lundberg, Malena Lundberg and Amisha Barron, Lisa (Adam) Ebersole, parents of Gabe and Makenna Ebersole, Amanda (Jereon) Lundberg, Alexander (Hannah) Engquist, Thomas Engquist, Matthew (Katie) Lundberg, and Cameron Lundberg.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
