Greg Leonard, 32, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017 after a long, hard-fought battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden. Rev. Gary Hoyt will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Greg was born on July 1, 1985, in Ames, Iowa, the son of Becky Leonard. Greg graduated from East Greene High School and attended Grandview University and William Penn University. On November 7, 2009, Greg was united in marriage to Caley Harvey. Their marriage was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Aubrey and Bailey.
Greg was a proud husband, father, son, brother and uncle who loved life in every sense. He was able to make others laugh and cared deeply for everyone he knew. He was an infectious person who was able to draw out the best in others. He also loved sports – playing basketball and becoming an avid sports fan following Iowa State, Duke, Lakers and the New York Yankees. Greg has passed on his enthusiasm and thoughtfulness in life, and his memory will forever live on in our hearts of everyone that had a privilege to know him.
Left to honor his memory are his wife of 8 years, Caley Leonard; two daughters, Aubrey and Bailey; his mother, Becky Leonard of Grand Junction, Iowa; sister, Tara (Andy) Quirk; grandfather, Dean Scalfaro; father and mother-in-law, Daryl and Cindy Christensen and Craig and Faye Harvey; brother-in-law, Cory (Shantell) Harvey; sister-in-law, Carey (Eric) Roeder; brother-in-law, Casey (Sara) Harvey; and many nieces and nephews.
Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents, Forest Eugene Leonard and Shirley Scalfaro.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
