Harris Putzke, age 92 of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. He was born January 12, 1919 in Dayton, Iowa to Samuel and Edna (Welch) Putzke.
Mr. Putzke married Lillian M. Gustatson September 1, 1949 in Dayton, Iowa. He was a retired crop and sheep farmer. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the American Legion, a Mason and the Mountain Home Gun Club. He was an avid water skier.
Mr. Putzke is survived by two sons: Harley Putzke of Gowrie, Iowa and Sam Putzke of Fort Dodge, Iowa, a daughter: Mary Putzke Vaughan and husband Carl of Mountain Home, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a sister and a friend Virgina Goforth.
A Prayer Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 25, 2011, at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton. Rev. Keith Putney will officiate. Visitation will also be Friday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the Funeral Home. Entombment will be in the Dayton Cemetery Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
