Helen L. Kinsey

Helen L. Kinsey, 93, of Dayton, Iowa, and formerly of Lehigh, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2010, at Grandview Health Care Center in Dayton.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 9, 2010, at the Christian Church in Lehigh. Pastor Richard Laird will officiate. Burial will be in the Dayton Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton.

Helen Louise Hinman was born on September 1, 1916, in rural Dayton, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Jennie (Kelly) Hinman. She attended Stratford schools. Helen was united in marriage to John Arnold Kinsey on April 28, 1949, in Omaha, Nebraska. The couple lived northeast of Pilot Mound and farmed in both Boone and Webster County until retiring in 1977 and moving into Lehigh. John passed away on May 10, 2004. In the fall of 2004, Helen moved to the Grandview Apartments in Dayton. She moved to the Grandview Health Care Center in February of 2008.

Helen was a former member of the Fundamental Bible Chapel in Pilot Mound and was currently a member of the Christian Church in Lehigh.

Survivors include two brothers-in-law, Dwight (Phyllis) Kinsey of Dayton, Iowa, and Vernon (Joanne) Kinsey of Boone, Iowa; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her parents; husband, John Kinsey; brother, Duane Hinman; and her sister, Hazel Dutcher, preceded her in death.
