Ione Myrtle Hugley, 91, of Boone, Iowa, and formerly of Ogden, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.
A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden. Rev. Gary Hoyt will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Church. For online obituaries and condolences visit: www.carsonstappfuneralhome.com
Ione Myrtle Johnson was born on April 19, 1926, in Fort Riley, Kansas, the daughter of Roy and Marcella (Beerhalter) Johnson. She attended schools in Augusta, Kansas, graduating with the Augusta High School class of 1943. She went on to receive her Associates Degree from the Colorado Women's College in Aurora, Colorado.
On August 24, 1947, Ione was united in marriage to Earven "Shorty" Hugley in Littleton, Colorado.
Ione and Shorty lived in Denver and Arvada, Colorado, before moving to Webster County, Iowa. In 1954, the couple moved to Ogden where they operated the East Mobile Station for several years. Shorty passed away in March of 1995, and in June of that same year, Ione moved to Boone.
Ione belonged to the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden where she was active in many church activities. She enjoyed gardening and reading.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Earven "Shorty" Hugley.
Among the survivors are her three children, Vicki (Earl) Faehn of Maplewood, Minnesota, Marlin Hugley, and Kristy (Terry) Hall all of Boone, Iowa; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews, and extended family members including Jane Hugley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
