Irene L. Crouch, 81, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Sunday morning, August 15, 2021, at Westhaven Community in Boone.

Irene Louise Morello was born on March 8, 1940, in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of Lester and Ruth (Hunter) Morello. She graduated with the Boone High School class of 1958.

During her school years, Irene worked at Mondt Coffee Shop and detasseled corn. Upon graduation she worked as a legal secretary for Attorney Pete Schroeder for four years. She later worked for Boone County Tax Service until becoming employed by Doran & Courter Law Office in 1974, where she remained until retiring in 2005

On September 20, 1959, Irene was united in marriage to Gene Crouch in Boone, Iowa. They were blessed with two daughters, Penny and Richenda. Gene and Irene farmed in Boone County, North of Ogden.

Irene belonged to Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. She enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, and most of all following her grandson’s activities.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Doris Jones, and two brothers, Edward Morello and Robert Morello.

Survivors include her husband, Gene Crouch of Ogden, IA; two daughters, Penny (Allen) Brockshus of Milford, IA, and Richenda (Corey) Cripe of Lehigh, IA; two grandsons, Austin Folsom and Connor Walters; and several nieces and nephews.
