Jack Taylor

Jack Taylor, 57, of Red Wing, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing, Minnesota.

A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held from 1-3 P.M. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden, Iowa. Inurnment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden.

Jack Hubert Gene Taylor, son of Jackie and Julie (Lambiaso) Pratt was born on November 3, 1967, in Galesburg, Illinois. Following his father’s passing, Julie remarried Junior Taylor who adopted Jack. He graduated from Ogden High School with the class of 1985. Following high school, Jack attended Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa. Jack proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps until being honorably discharged.

On June 17, 2000, Jack was united in marriage to Shelly Bauer at Northridge Baptist Church in Des Moines, Iowa. To this union five children were born: James, Joyanna, Abigail, Elijah, and Gabriel. 

Jack’s main vocation was as a truck driver. Over the years, he drove for Kane Transport and Wayne Transport. He most recently worked for Hiawathaland Transit in Red Wing, Minnesota as a city bus driver.

Jack was a man of deep faith. He was an Associate Pastor at Northridge Baptist Church in Des Moines, Iowa, and a church planter, having started and pastored at Bridgewater Baptist Church in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Jack especially cherished spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Jack was also preceded in death by several aunts and uncles; and his nephew-in-law, Brian Lage.

Survivors include his loving wife, Shelly Taylor of Red Wing, MN; five children, James (Mikayla) Taylor, Joyanna Taylor, Abigail Taylor, Elijah Taylor, and Gabriel Taylor; four siblings, Jill (Mike) Ahrens of Ogden, IA; Jessica (Ryan Swagler) Addy of Ankeny, IA; Jason (Amanda) Taylor of Ogden, IA; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
