Jan C. Johnson, 75, of Stratford, Iowa, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. For online obituaries & condolences visit: www.carsonstappfuneralhome.com

Jan Colette Littsen was born on December 12, 1946, in Fort Dodge, Iowa , the daughter of Charles and Viola (Cole) Littsen.


She attended schools in Promise City and later Stratford, Iowa, prior to enrolling in Beauty School in Ames.


Jan was united in marriage to Larry Dean Johnson on June 15, 1963, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Duncombe, Iowa. She worked for several years at Syngenta in Ames, until retiring.


Jan enjoyed gambling, reading, crocheting, and most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren.


Jan is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Don Littsen, and Lee Littsen, infant grandson, Mark Johnson, father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Irma Johnson, and two brothers-in-law, Eugene Johnson and Edward Nelson.


Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Larry Johnson of Stratford, Iowa; children, Randy (Kathleen) Johnson of Stratford, Iowa, Rick (Margene) Johnson of Boone, Iowa, and Amber (Matt) Shroyer of Cheyenne, Wyoming; grandchildren, Jessica (Chad) Patterson, Kirby (Ashley) Johnson, Kelby Johnson, Madelyn Johnson, Kaleb Johnson, Michael Andersen, and Steven Andersen; one great-granddaughter, Magnolia Johnson; one sister, Ann Hansen of Texas; one brother, Larry (Linda) Littsen of Washington; several nieces and nephews including her VFN, Rhonda Dunlap; and her sister-in-law, Karen Nelson; as well as many other relatives and friends.


Memorials may be left to the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
