John Adam Burt, 41, of Pilot Mound, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, January 20, 2025.

A visitation for John will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 1:15 P.M. on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boxholm, Iowa, with John’s funeral service to follow beginning at 1:30 P.M. Rev. Rod Meyer will officiate. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden has been entrusted with arrangements.

John Adam Burt, son of John V. Burt and Jolane (Henrichs) Stewart was born on May 2, 1983, in Ames, Iowa. He attended elementary school in Ames and graduated from Ogden High School with the Class of 2002 

While in school John helped his dad with the farm operations where he learned to be a very talented semi driver. Following his education, John’s main vocation was as a truck driver. He drove and dispatched for his father for many years and then owned and operated his own trucking business, Burt Ag Inc., for over eight years. John was then employed as a heavy equipment truck driver at Miller Industries and presently was driving for Pickett Salvage. John also currently had a large hay and snow removal business.

John loved being an uncle to his two Nephews and a Niece. John loved being outdoors. He enjoyed staying busy all the time, deer hunting, antler hunting, and being at home in the quiet woods. He loved cattle and especially loved his two dogs, Charlie and Lexus. John had a strong work ethic and was known for being a Snapchat comedian.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John R. and Betty Burt; his maternal grandfather, Leon Henrichs; uncle, Gary Henrichs; and cousin, Brad Henrichs.

Survivors include his father, John V. (Kim) Burt of Pilot Mound; his mother, Jolane (Keith) Stewart of West Des Moines; three sisters, Hannah, Alyxandra, and Audra Burt; two nephews, a niece, and many cousins, grandmother, Dorothy Henrichs of West Des Moines; paternal aunts and uncles, Patty and Jeff Peterson of Dayton, Becky and Mark Benton of Guthrie Center, and Elaine Marsh of Boone; maternal aunt and uncle, Karen and Joel Wolcott of West Des Moines, and maternal uncle and aunt, Denny and Linda Henrichs of Rembrandt; two nephews, one niece, and several cousins.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
