Karen Anne Slawson

Karen A. Slawson, 73, of Harcourt, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Thursday morning, December 29, 2016, at Grandview Health Care Center in Dayton.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at the United Methodist Church in Dayton. Pastor Kay. Christie will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Church. Following services Karen will be cremated. Karen Anne Fridolfson was born on February 16, 1943, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Philip and Nina (Green) Fridolfson.

She was a graduate of Dayton High School and furthered her education A.I.B. College in Des Moines.

Karen was united in marriage to Jerry A. Slawson of Lehigh. They later divorced. Their marriage was blessed with one son, Philip Warren Scotty Slawson.

After college, Karen worked at Grandview Health Care Center in Dayton. She was later employed as a Data Entry Operator at Hot Line in Fort Dodge.

Among the survivors are her son, Scott Slawson of Pomeroy, Iowa; granddaughter, Hazey May Slawson of Pomeroy, Iowa; and one brother, Frank "Skip" DeGroote (Pat Appleton) of Dayton, Iowa.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
