Keith Vest, 87, of Boone, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Eastern Star Home in Boone.
A family graveside service will be held Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Renner Cemetery, near Boxholm, Iowa.
Keith Owen Vest was born on April 26, 1933, in Defiance, Iowa, the son of Roy and Rose (Smith) Vest. He received his education in the Boxholm area graduating from Boxholm Consolidated High School. On August 10.1951, Keith was united in marriage to Belva Wiener in Ogden, Iowa. To this union were born a daughter Jane, and a son Jeff.
Keith served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, from which he was honorably discharged in March 1955. The couple lived and farmed near Boxholm for many years, retiring from farming in 1980 at which time they moved to Boone. Keith obtained his real estate license while still on the farm, and began selling part time. After moving to Boone he continued selling real estate full-time and obtained his broker’s license. He retired from real estate in 2014.
Keith was active member of The Evangelical Free Church in Boone for many years.
Survivors include his wife Belva of Boone; son, Jeffrey Vest of St. Petersburg, Florida; son-in-law, Mark Trueblood of Ogden; granddaughters, Shawna (Brad) Freeman of Indianola and Sarah (Lance) McConnell of Urbandale; and five great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jane (Mark)Trueblood, a brother, Roy Vest, and a sister, Maxine Sindt.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
