Kenneth E. Peterson, 80, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at the Ogden Manor.
Funeral services are Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 10:30 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Rev. Stephen Ude will officiate. Burial is at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Kenneth Eugene Peterson was born on November 23, 1933, in Ogden, Iowa, the son of Ralph and Florence (Hagge) Peterson. He graduated with the Ogden High School class of 1952. Kenny served his country in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957, and was stationed in Chicago.
On August 10, 1958, Kenny united in marriage with Hazel A. Martin at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. To this union two children were born: Tamera and Michael.
Kenny's employment included farming with his father, driving truck, and working for Cargill as a Grain Elevator Manager. He later drove school bus for Ogden Schools for 19 years.
Kenny was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. His favorite pastimes included golfing, square dancing, and playing cards. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Hazel Peterson of Ogden, Iowa; daughter, Tamera J. Grandison of Quinter, Kansas; son, Michael and wife, Annette Peterson of Runnells, Iowa; three grandchildren, Rebecca Peterson, Eric Peterson, and Melisa Anne Grandison; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Janice Christensen, brother, Julene Peterson, son-in-law, Anthony Grandison, and his grandson, Michael Grandison.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
