Kyle H. Ruther

Kyle H. Ruther, 68, of Ogden, Iowa, died Friday, December 25, 2009, at the Boone County Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Rev. Julian Swanson will officiate. Burial will be at Lawn Cemetery in Boxholm. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Boone Veteran's Council. Visitation will be prior to services on Tuesday, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

Kyle Henry Ruther was born on February 10, 1941, in Jefferson, Iowa, the son of August and Lavina (Hall) Ruther. He graduated with the Grand Community High School class of 1959. Following his education, Kyle served his country in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965. He later worked at Mid States Steel in Boone and then at Northern Natural Gas in Ogden for 30 years until retiring. He was united in marriage to Eva Moffet on April 22, 1972, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boxholm. The couple later divorced.

Survivors include his son, Kelly Ruther of Ames, Iowa; one brother, Alan (Jo
Ann) Ruther of Ogden, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and his aunts, Roberta Hall of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and Ester Hall of Callender, Iowa He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Lavonne Ruther and Norma Stinger.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
