Lee M. Trask, 85, of Lehigh, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at UnityPoint – Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh, Iowa. Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton has been entrusted with arrangements.

Lee McKinley Trask was born July 27, 1939, to Glen and Elsie (Benton) Trask. He was the 3rd of their 6 children. Lee attended country school and then graduated from Lehigh High in 1958. This was about the same time he met the love of his life, DeeAnn Johnson. They were married on June 17, 1961, a few short days after she finished high school. They made their home just outside of Lehigh, where they have lived since day one. After one year, they welcomed their first child, Lee Jr. By the end of 1964, they had added two more, Brian and Brenda.

Lee started his working life at Morton’s in Webster City, but he spent the majority of his working life at W.S. Dickey Brick and Tile Plant at Lehigh. He worked there until, the then called Lehigh Brick closed. Lee then worked where he could find work. In 1991, he began working at Van Diest Supply Company where he continued to work until he retired. A large chunk of his working years, he could be found on a forklift. A job he enjoyed and at which he was very proficient.

In his younger days, Lee enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. As he got older, he enjoyed just being with his bride DeeAnn, driving around the countryside and finding new places to dine.

Those left to remember him are his loving wife of 63+ years, DeeAnn Trask of Lehigh; three children, Lee (Anita) Trask of Webster City, Brian Trask of Lehigh, and Brenda (Stephen) Sinnett of Webster City; grandchildren, Felisha, Michelle, Lee, Temeshia, Kevin, and Lydia Mae; 19 great grandchildren; two sisters, Catherine and Glenda; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and in-laws, Homer and Dorothy, Lee was also preceded in death by his brother, Fred M. Trask; two sisters, Margaret and Bessie; and his brothers-in-law, Ron, Dean, and Sterling; and sister-in-law, Sharyn.

The family would like to thank the CCU staff at Trinity Regional Hospital for their excellent care of Lee and his family.
