Lois E. Toyne, 85, of Boone, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014, at Westhaven Community in Boone.

Lois's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 31, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Boone. Rev. Sarah Karber will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden at a later date. Visitation will be Friday, one hour prior to services at the church. She is survived by her husband, Verle, of 65 years, and daughters Mary Ann Schultz (Rick) of Roseville, MN and Lori Longmeier (Pete) of Streamwood, IL and one grandson, Andy Schultz.

Lois was born on a farm near Rippey, Iowa in 1928 to Daniel and Naomi (Schleiman) Gonder and was a 1946 graduate of Boxholm High School. She and Verle were married in 1948 and farmed in the Boxholm and Pilot Mound area. She volunteered as the Boxholm Methodist church organist and pianist for 25 years and spent many years as a volunteer at the Boone County Hospital Auxilary.
