Lyle G. Seiser, 75, of Stratford, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
Lyle's wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the Lutheran Church in Stratford. Pastor Craig Vote will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Stratford with Military Graveside Rites performed by the Stratford American Legion. Lyle Gene Seiser was born on September 8, 1937, in Webster City, Iowa, the son of Milton Sr. & Evelyn (Pederson) Seiser. He received his education in Webster City. In December of 1956, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Panama until his honorable discharge in November of 1958.
On September 9, 1960, Lyle was united in marriage to Patricia Trueblood at Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City. Their marriage was blessed with one son, Wade Seiser.
In his earlier years, Lyle had worked at Marvel's Sale Barn in Webster City, for Hamilton County in Road Maintenance, at Lehigh Sewer Pipe & Tile, and at Land O' Lakes in Fort Dodge. He later worked for many years as a Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy until retiring in 1993. While working in law enforcement, Lyle was also actively involved in the Regional Drug Task Force serving Hamilton, Webster, and Boone Counties. Following retirement he served on the Stratford Police Department.
Lyle's hobbies included raising silver fox, and raising and racing both greyhounds and thoroughbred horses. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Pat Seiser of Stratford, Iowa; one son, Wade (Bonnie) Seiser of West Fork, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Nick (Sara) Seiser, Jake Seiser, and Kira Seiser; and several nieces and nephews. His parents, and one brother, Milton Seiser Jr, preceded him in death.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
