Mabel I. Boersma

Mabel I. Boersma, 90, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2011, at the Ogden Manor.

Her wishes were to be cremated. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., with family present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Private graveside services will be held at Bluff Creek Cemetery rural Ogden, Iowa.

Mabel I. Fairchild was born on March 10, 1921, in Boone County, Iowa, the daughter of Glenn and Grace (Erickson) Fairchild. She received her education at Hickory Grove Country School in Boone County.

Mabel was united in marriage to Pete Boersma. The couple made their home in Boone County where Mabel cleaned homes. Pete passed away in October of 1992. In November of 2007, Mabel became a resident of the Ogden Manor.

Survivors include her son Junior (Shirley) Boersma of Ogden, Iowa; and three grandchildren, Mary, Richard, and Carl Mendenhall. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pete Boersma; one son; and one granddaughter.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
