Margaret Paullin

Margaret "Marty" Ann Paullin, 66, of Dayton, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, surrounded by her family.

Marty's wishes were to be cremated. Visitation will be Monday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Faith Lutheran Church in Harcourt. Rev. Rod Meyer will officiate. Burial will be at Lost Grove Township Cemetery near Harcourt.

Margaret Ann Miller was born on June 7, 1945, in Lake City, Iowa, the daughter of Rex and Adelyn (Lindquist) Miller. She attended Lanyon schools before graduating with the Prairie View High School class of 1963.

Marty was united in marriage to Jerry Paullin on June 23, 1963, at Zion Lutheran Church in Gowrie. To this union four children were born: Jeff, Chris, Carrie, and Joe.

Marty worked at the Clover Farm Grocery Store in Dayton for 10 years, and later served as the Dayton Rodeo Celebration Committee's Secretary for 11 years.

Among the survivors are her husband, Jerry Paullin of Dayton, Iowa; four children, Jeff Paullin of Dayton, Iowa, Chris (Tracy) Rial of Ames, Iowa, Carrie (Lance) Bright of Olathe, Kansas, and Joe (Tara) Paullin of Dayton, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Brice and Becca Rial, Jordan, Justin, Jena, and T.J. Bright, Gavin Richman, and Brandon Bogue; her sister, Lois Brinkman of Sheffield, Iowa; two brothers, Dale (Kay) Miller of Gowrie, Iowa, and Denny (Darla) Miller of Schaller, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Chip. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lloyd Miller; a nephew, Andy Miller, sister-in-law, Pat Miller, and brother-in-law, Marty Brinkman.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
