Martha Ann Lundgren, 96, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20th at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Burnside, Iowa, with funeral services immediately following at 2:30 p.m., with Pastor Rod Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh, Iowa.
Martha was born on June 5, 1928, to Oscar and Effie (Bodell) Anderson in Burnside, Iowa. She graduated from Burnside High School in 1946. Martha was united in marriage to Marvin Lee Lundgren in 1947. After farming several years in the Burnside area, they moved to a farm near Lehigh in 1956, where they made their home for 42 years. After retiring in 1998, they moved to Burnside.
Martha was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Burnside, serving as a member of WELCA and as a Sunday School Teacher, sewing World Relief quilts for many years, even into her early years at Friendship Haven. She and her husband were married 49 years before his death.
Martha is survived by her children, Mark Lundgren of Burnside, IA; Marshall (Shirley) Lundgren of Bend, OR; Martin Lundgren of Scottsville, VA; Mary Ellen (Gary) Thursby of Gulf Breeze, FL; and Marion Todd (Kay) Lundgren of Lehigh, IA; her grandchildren, Leslie, Cory, Tyson, Breanne, Tanner, Whitney, Lisa, Alex, and Alyssa; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin, seven siblings, daughter-in-law, Julie Lundgren, grandsons, Bryce Lundgren and Nicholas Lundgren.
