Marvilyn I. Reutter, 72, of Pilot Mound, Iowa, died Saturday, January 30, 2010, at the Boone County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Burial will be at the Pilot Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home.
Marvilyn Irene Johnson was born on August 12, 1937, in Stratford, Iowa, the daughter of Arlow and Ardell (Poulson) Johnson. She graduated with the Pilot Mound High School class of 1955. Marvilyn was united in marriage to Cleo Williams in Boone, Iowa, in 1955. The couple had lived in Boone before establishing their home in Pilot Mound. Cleo passed away in 1979. On May 8, 1981, Marvilyn was united in marriage to Gerald Reutter. Marvilyn owned and operated the Hamburger Inn in Boone for several years during the 1960's. She was later employed by Heinrich Envelope in Boone for over 30 years, retiring in October of 2002.
Some of Marvilyn's favorite pastimes were baking, cooking, and quilting. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Pilot Mound.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald Reutter of Pilot Mound, Iowa; two sons, Jay (Barbara) Williams of Pilot Mound, Iowa, Michael (Jill) Williams of Boone, Iowa; one sister, Linda Johnson of Eagle Grove, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Waneta Johnson of Carlisle, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Jamie (Jim) Doran, Heather (Mitch) Shaw, Courtney (Richard) Brandenburg, Tony (Amanda) Williams, Jeremy (Michelle) Nelson, Nicole (Jeff) Russell, and Brian Williams; eight great grandchildren; and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cleo Williams; and her brother, Loel Johnson.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
